COMPUTER SIMULATION INVESTIGATION OF CRASH BOX DESIGN AS SAFETY-PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY FOR INDONESIA HIGH SPEED TRAIN

The crashworthiness of a railway vehicle has been developed to provide energy absorption capacity and efficiency absorption. This study presents computer simulation determine the energy-absorbing structure new addition crash box design on Indonesian high-speed train in collision scenario. analysis is done with software based finite element methods. modeled as thin-walled located coupler housing, between draft gear car frame. test model was carried out according 2019 SNI 8826 standard using frontal impact an impactor mass 38.807 kg speed 10 m/s. pattern deformation obtained by calculating area under graphical curve relationship force reaction displacement from simulation. deceleration graph acceleration against time impactor. results show that module safety protection technology for vehicles can reduce severity improve passenger safety. application initial also shows unacceptable standard.
